Obviously, this depends on which size you order. The large is touch over 600g, so it’s reasonably weighty in the hands. However, as the protection mechanism is designed to sit incredibly close to the skull with a very low centre of mass, the helmet doesn’t feel anywhere near that heavy. 

In fact, much of the feedback we get is people saying ‘wow, it’s light!’ and ‘I forgot I was wearing a helmet, I could hardly feel it on’.

Are these compatible with my Goggles?

Yes. The Anti Ordinary A2 is compatible with all snowsport goggle brands and models. 

The A2 does fit lower than most helmets, both the front and the back. Throughout testing we’ve always found you can just adjust the A2 on your head to suit the goggles.

We haven’t had a set of goggles we can’t fit yet, depending on your style, you can even run your goggles under the A2 if you like the park rat steeze.

Due to our unique dynamic frame design, if you run your googles over your helmet, it will adjust the tension and feel of the helmet fit. Simply adjust your google straps to best suit you.

Is there a goggle clip? Will my goggles fall off?

No and No. Our A2 helmets don't feature a goggle clip, as our beanie outers are interchangeable and our unique design doesn't require them.

Throughout our extensive product testing and feedback from thousands of skiiers and snowboarders, we've yet to have anyone report their goggles falling off.

They sure do! Just pull the outer beanie material down (sometimes brand new fresh units need a fair tug, or to work it around from the back) and they’ll be fine to cover your ears.

Our units don’t naturally cover the ears like a regular helmet does with the heavy ear pads (blocking sound and feeling claustrophobic), so we just use high quality merino wool to keep your ears warm without losing any of your peripheral senses on the hill. 

Some of our team (*cough, founder Rob*) have big heads and large ears and can even get a small unit down to cover their ears.

Can I use my own beanie? You can also modify a regular beanie to fit the helmet if you're handy with a sewing machine, or you can just pull one over the top - it just won't have all the lovely merino lining we put into ours.

You do need to make a small modification to the beanie outer - but it’s fairly straightforward.

We have the ventilation built into our dynamic frame in the form of 6x open vents, but of course as our unit is so different to traditional helmets it breathe differently too.

With our merino inner and ventilation, we’ve had our guys here in Australia using it in +22c/+72f weather mountain biking in the unit and still being super comfortable!

We use nature’s smartest fabric (merino wool) to ensure you stay warm when it’s freezing and cool when warm out there. Whether you’re chasing fresh tracks in a blizzard or playing in sunny spring slush, you’ll be comfy.

We’re currently certified for Snowsports, and designed for the snow in mind. See our safety page for more info (certified and exceed the EN1077 and ASTM F2040 helmet certifications).

The cycle and snow certs in terms of impact are largely similar, but we don’t have that certifcation right now so we can’t advertise it for that use… one day soon though!

We'll be expanding our range to include these certifications in the future, so everyone can participate in their favorite sport, knowing their brain is safe.

When it comes to getting your hands on your new helmet, we know the last thing you want to be thinking about is customs duties and taxes. There is powder to shred!

Our website will generally include and show any customs duties, import tax, and other local taxes at checkout for a seamless delivery experience. No nasty surprises on your doorstep.

Whilst we aim to be on top of this, charges can vary country to country at a moments notice, especially for friends in Europe outside the EU, like Switzerland and the UK, as well as our buddies in Canada. 

We're all about keeping things clear and upfront, but very occasionally the tax man decides to be greedy and increase these fees without telling us, or mislabel our products! If you ever are liable for additional fees to get your helmet, just reach out to our team we’ll work to get it straightened out.

We have fulfilment centres across the globe, including USA, Europe, Asia and Oceania, ensuring that shipments can be dispatched as soon as stock is available in your local region.

Travelling overseas for your ski trip? If you are travelling overseas for a ski trip, ie. Australian skiing in Canada, we may be able to locate local stock in your destination country and dispatch it directly to your hotel/accomodation. We suggest changing the shipping address on checkout to your hotel/accomodation. To keep your Anti Ordinary A2 in tip top condition, consider these helmet care steps:

After Use: If your outer beanie part of your helmet gets wet or covered in snow, consider removing after your day to speed up the drying process. 

Machine Washable Outer: Your removable outer is machine washable, making it easy to maintain its freshness and cleanliness. We recommend a low-temperature gentle wash to best preserve the look, feel and fit of your outers. Do not tumble dry - It'll shrink!

Cleaning the Frame: Use a dry microfibre cloth to gently wipe the frame and remove any moisture that is present before storing for prolonged periods.

Transport and Storage: Utilise the provided carry drawstring bag for transporting and storing your helmet and outer(s), and store the helmet to prevent from unnecessary damage. This not only protects the helmet and/or outer from physical damage but also keeps it clean and looking crisp, ready for your next adventure.

Following these best practices ensures your helmet remains a reliable companion on the mountain for a long time to come, ready to provide both safety, style and comfort on the hill.

In snowsports, we generally recommend that skiers and snowboarders replace their brain safety units (helmets) every three years from purchase to ensure optimal protection.

If you are ever involved in an accident where the helmet had an impact, always thoroughly inspect your helmet for any potential damage, including signs of cracking, compressing or tearing.

You must replace the unit immediately if an impact has occurred to ensure high-standards of protection are maintained.

If you ever happen to have an impact and you feel your helmet is compromised, please contact our support team to discuss the options we have available. Our aim is to ensure you are protected at all times.
We know it sucks replacing helmets often - but we'd rather help get you into a new one than hear you sustained a preventable brain injury.

We recommend storing your Anti Ordinary A2 in the drawstring bag provided, after removing the outer (washing and drying the outer, if required) and drying the frame with a microfibre cloth.

When not in use, we recommend keeping your helmet out of direct sunlight and stored in the drawstring bag provided, in a dry, temperate location. To avoid excess heat damage, don’t store your helmet in a vehicle or near a heat source.

We offer size exchanges within 7 days of receiving a product. We’ve never met a head we couldn’t fit, so we’re excited to get you into a helmet that fits you best. When you have the right size, it will be best helmet you've ever worn. Just make sure you watch the video in your welcome pack!!

We do not offer ‘change of mind’ refunds. Helmets are tough to build, using materials that don’t recycle easily. We’re not fast fashion, and as such we want you to consider an A2 properly before purchasing. 

In any case, we’re sure you’ll love it. If there’s any genuine problem with the unit, or the size isn’t quite right, we’ll always sort you out.

Exchange Process

To request an exchange, contact our team within seven days of receiving your item at howdy@antiordinary.co or via chat. Provide your full name, order number and the size you require for the exchange. Item must be in original, saleable condition with all tags attached. Item must not be damaged, soiled or modified.

Shipping Costs for Exchanges

Customers may be responsible for shipping costs when returning items for an exchange. If the exchange is due to a product fault, we will cover the shipping costs.

International Exchanges

For international exchanges, customers may be responsible for all shipping costs, customs duties, and taxes.
